Kelvin Atmadibrata
Please leave me alone.... is a durational performance inspired byぐでたま, a 'lazy egg' character by Sanrio created in 2013. The performer dressed in yellow/orange Zentai suit will hold raw egg white on his palm in a secluded corner. Idling and almost doing nothing, the work aims to portray human's expectation in growing up. Taking inspiration from kawaii character, the artist aims to play the character of a child-like figure and the egg as a symbol of life. The Zentai suit will strip all identity of the artist, turning his body into the egg yolk as the performance will invite audience to think about life like either a broken or hatched egg as a representation of nature.
The egg is also a fetus stage of mammal life, this performance comes from the inner exploration of the artist, about his own gender; he is dressed as an egg to symbolise the pre-birth stage of life. There will be no nudity or sexual content.
